Aptos Blockchain Leverages Stripe Integration and USDC for Enhanced Utility
Layer-1 blockchain Aptos (APT) is set to enhance its payment capabilities by integrating Stripe’s financial services and adding the popular stablecoin USDC to its ecosystem. This collaboration will introduce a fiat on-ramp to the Aptos network, broadening access for traditional currency users. Circle’s CEO Jeremy Allaire highlighted this move as pivotal for scaling USDC, aiming to create a robust programmable money infrastructure. Stripe, reentering the cryptocurrency market, now facilitates USDC settlements, after initially pulling back support for Bitcoin payments in 2018 due to utility concerns. Currently, the market sees Aptos' native token, APT, trading at $11.98. Despite a slight decline of nearly 1% in the past day, APT has experienced a 6.5% increase over the last week and a notable 15.8% rise over the month. This positive trajectory comes even as the token remains about 40% below its peak price of $19.92 from January 2023.
