UAE's Crypto Landscape Evolves as Crypto.com Secures Bitcoin Derivatives License

Crypto.com has successfully obtained a derivatives license from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), marking a significant milestone in its expansion within the UAE. This license enables Crypto.com to offer futures, perpetual swaps, and contracts for difference (CFDs) to institutional and qualified investors, both locally and globally. This expansion builds on the company’s existing Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) status and aligns with its aggressive global growth strategy outlined in its 2025 Roadmap. Notably, since acquiring its VASP license in November 2023, Crypto.com has launched several major initiatives, including a strategic partnership with Standard Chartered in August 2024 to provide enhanced financial services. This partnership also facilitates USD transactions for UAE users via Standard Chartered’s banking network, highlighting Dubai’s position as a forward-thinking hub for regulated crypto activities. These developments reflect the region's openness to embracing regulated crypto innovations, securing its reputation as a global center for blockchain technology.
